Een heerlijke droge en mousserende appel cider van Abavas. Deze maker uit Letland is opgeleid als wijnmaker en dat proef je!
Mooi frisse zuren, iets citrus "van de appel" gevolgd door hartige tonen van wat tannine en het pittige van de mousse, tesamen verfijnd complex van smaak. Heerlijk als aperitief, bij een Mediterrane lunch, met fruits-de-mer.
Wij proefden de cider bij de pittige Oosterse gerechtjes van de "Toko", een schitterende match!

Our apple cider Brut Premium is a drink for lovers of nuanced flavors. Crafted from three Latvian apple varieties with the focus on a slightly acidic and crisp flavor. Fermented and held for eight months at low temperatures. Light body with sparkling wine character.

The initial taste is dry with a moderate lemon-like acidity. On the mid-palate lightly watery and vinous with notes of green apple, apple stems, a lightly smoky note with a subtle astringent taste. The finish is dry and a bit chalky with a lingering touch of lemon, crisp green apple with ripe yellow apple and distant bitterness.
Overall: a refreshing balanced acidity with a broad palate make the Premium Brut indeed to a premium product. Not to mention the beautiful bottle. The Brut tastes more like a quality sparkling white wine made from white grapes with pleasant and refreshing notes of fresh apples.

Inspiration and wish to create a vineyard and winery in Latvia came to Mārtiņš and Liene while visiting wineries of the Old Europe. In 2010 they began their dream journey by planting a vineyard and founding a winery near Sabile.
After several years of operation the Abavas winery was successfully opened in the former food manufacturing premises in Slampe, near the riverhead of Abava.
During the ten years on the market, the team of Abavas founders was joined by Krasovski and Gadzjus families, who believe in and wish to develop this beautiful and strong brand in the same way as Barkāni family do.
